Los TTM


Los Trastornos Témporomandibulares son desórdenes que afectan a las articulaciones temporomandibulares, a los músculos masticatorios o a ambos.

Se manifiestan con dificultad para mover la mandíbula o molestias y/o ruidos durante los movimientos; pero el síntoma que gatilla la búsqueda de ayuda por parte de los pacientes es el dolor.

El dolor es generalmente difuso y de múltiples localizaciones, pudiendo abarcar la zona del oído, mejillas, sienes, dientes, mandíbula y hasta el cuello.

Este espacio surge para orientar a pacientes y profesionales, en el área de los Trastornos Témporomandibulares y el Dolor Orofacial.

Trastornos del Sueño

Los trastornos del sueño involucran cualquier tipo de dificultad relacionada con el hecho de dormir, incluyendo dificultad para conciliar el sueño o permanecer dormido, quedarse dormido en momentos inapropiados, tiempo de sueño total excesivo o conductas anormales durante el sueño.

La Clasificación Internacional del los Trastornos del Sueño divide a las enfermedades del sueño en ocho grupos, dentro de los cuales se encuentran diferentes trastornos:

  1. Insomnio
  2. Trastornos del sueño relacionados con la respiración
  3. Hipersomnias de origen central
  4. Trastornos del sueño del ritmo circadiano
  5. Parasomnias
  6. Sueño relacionados con los trastornos del movimiento
  7. Síntomas aislados y variantes normales
  8. Otros trastornos del sueño
